6 CounterACT Investigators Receive NorCal SOT Awards!

Not just 1, but 6 CounterACT investigators received awards from the Northern California Regional Chapter of the Society of Toxicology for 2023. They include (clockwise from top left corner in picture):

Peter Andrew, 1st Place Graduate Student Achievement Award for his abstract, "Natural history of acute and subchronic electrophysiologic responses to acute intoxication with the organophosphate diisopropylfluorophosphate in male and female rats".

Jeremy MacMahon, 2nd Place Graduate Student Achievement Award for his abstract, "Acute exposure to diisopropylfluorophosphate (DFP) perturbs the plasminogen activation system (PAS) within the plasma and brain of male rats ".

Pedro Bernardino, 3rd Place Graduate Student Achievement Award for his abstract, "Blood-brain barrier impairment is seizure-dependent in a male rat model of acute organophosphate intoxication".

Audrey Luo, Undergraduate Travel Award to attend the 2023 SOT meeting in Nashville, TN.

Yi-Hua (Teresa) Tsai, 1st Place Postdoctoral Achievement Award for her abstract, "Persistent Neuropathology Is Significantly Decreased in Adult Rats with Low Acute Seizure Behavior following Acute Intoxication with Diisopropylfluorophosphate".

Xiuzhen Liu, 1st Place Postdoctoral Achievement Award for her abstract, " Mecamylamine is More Effective Than Pyridostigmine Bromide as a Prophylactic Treatment for Acute Organophosphate Intoxication in Adult Male Mice ".
