Danh V. Nguyen is Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He was Professor in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Public Health Sciences, School of Medicine, at UC Davis from 2003-2013. He has extensive experience in leading data coordination and analytical efforts in collaborative research centers and consortiums. He led UC Irvine Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design Unit in the UC Irvine Institute for Clinical and Translational Institute from 2013-2017. He was the Consortium Statistics Leader for the NeuroTherapeutics Research Institute (2007-2013), Director of the Data Coordinating Center for the national Early Autism Risk Longitudinal Investigation (EARLI) Network (2007-2013), and Director of the Statistics Core of the Center for Children’s Environmental Health (2007-2009) and Associate Director of the Design and Biostatistics Core for the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (2007-2013) at UC Davis. He has contributed significant methodological innovations in the analysis of high-dimensional data, particularly in methods for dimension reduction, longitudinal data analysis methods, time-varying coefficient models, classification/prediction and application of error controls (e.g., false discovery rate, multiple testing). His collaborative research involves pre-clinical and clinical studies examining molecular and environmental factors in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.
